The further I travel, the more I realize that I am carrying waaaaay too much stuff. It slows me down and so it takes me all day to arrive at my destination.
A Family of Strangers:
When you tour, you are always an outsider, no matter what you do. The stares I get from locals are really beginning to annoy me. I am starting to question whether they see me, or if they see Bigfoot on a tricycle.
Anyways, since my arrival, other cyclists wave as I pass them. It is almost as if to say "I too am on a grand adventure. Respect. Good luck." With these strangers I feel a.sort of belonging.
Fairly Uneventful:
The rain keeps falling and I have way too many kilometers to cover still.
As I finally reach my destination, I stop and ask where the camping grounds are. The nice lady allows me to sleep in the rest stop she works at. Here I meet a couple who, doing a tour of Hokkaido's onsens, stopped here for the night. The two invite me to their table and I eat a nice Japanese meal.
I soon go to sleep as my legs are wrecked from carrying all this crap. I need to think of something. Nite.
