I checkout the city's castle. Pretty cool, but my whole day is brought down in quality by my lack of sleep. Regardless, I enjoy Nagoya. This city is never mentioned in guide books or shows. Tokyo is huge and fashionable, Osaka is where the party is at, Kyoto is the historical center. Nagoya? Just known for being hardworking. I mean Toyota is based here as well as many other industrial powerhouses. Not really an amazing city, but if you give it a chance, you'll find it to be charming in its own way.
The Aquarium
I said I would take it easy and not rush....so, I go to the local aquarium. There I spend a good 4 hours looking at penguins, fish, skeletons, and diagrams. My inner geek is unleashed. I love to learn about nature...although, I have to admit of feeling a bit sad for the poor animals who live their own existence in such tiny spaces. Oh well, it's a tough world, ain't it...
I am now writing as I watch the underwater part of the dolphin tank. Relaxing Hawaiian music fills the air. Everyone is gone. I am waiting for the museum to close. Got nowhere else to go till midnight when I will go back to the internet cafè. It is a bit lonely here. Maybe it's the music, or the empty room. Maybe I've been away long enough to wonder how home feels again. Sigh...Nagoya. I feel like you and I have both been forgotten by the world.
The light in the tank dims. The sun is going to bed and so are the dolphins. I guess I'll enjoy a couple of minutes more of this pleasant Hawaiian music. Later...
